Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Immigration Directorate General has announced that 27 Chinese citizens suspected of running a cybercrime syndicate are now facing deportation, following a joint operation that uncovered their elaborate fraud scheme in a luxury house in Lampung.

The group allegedly posed as Chinese police officers to extort victims back in China.

“The 27 foreign citizens will be subjected to immigration administrative action in the form of deportation to China. We are coordinating with the Chinese Embassy in Jakarta, after which they will be handled by Chinese law enforcement,” Immigration Intelligence Director Senior Superintendent Agus Waluyo said on Tuesday (18/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

Investigators found that the suspects had converted the house into a fake police-office setting, complete with banners mimicking Chinese law-enforcement visuals. Using this setup, they called Chinese citizens, impersonated police, and demanded money. Immigration officials confirmed there were no Indonesian victims.

Authorities say the syndicate operated with a structured hierarchy, from leaders to callers, before being detained and formally transferred to Immigration for deportation processing.
