“With this system, we hope that the royalty payments can be made in advance, before the concert takes place," he said on Sunday (3/9/2025).
He emphasized that there is a proposal to implement a hybrid license that can be useful for improving royalty management.
According to him, there is a striking difference in the income received by music performers in one appearance with songwriters.
He further added that songwriters only receive IDR 125,000 per year, while music performers earn up to IDR 250 million per concert.
"Paying royalties in advance will reduce the risk of delays and ensure that songwriters get their rights," he said.
He emphasized the importance of certainty for songwriters so that they can enjoy the results of their work.
Muhammad Amin, said, the importance of revising the copyright law so that it will create a better legal framework.
This is used to support the growth of the Indonesian music industry in the digital era and provide more welfare for musicians.
"Musicians must get proper recognition for their contributions to culture and society," he said.
