Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Immigration Office in Denpasar, Bali has been investigating three foreigners suspected of being involved in an international prostitution ring.

Ridha Syah Putra, the Head of the Immigration office in Denpasar, said onb Tuesday (27/8/2024) that the Ugandan nationals, identified as RKN and FN, and the Russian, identified as IT, were arrested by Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement officers during a sting operation on 21 August 2024.

The suspects, aged between 25 and 30, were arrested at a three-star hotel in Denpasar after undercover officers arranged to meet them for services priced at $400 per encounter, according to antaranews.com.

The investigation took two weeks, utilizing digital communication apps to track the suspects. All three had recently entered Indonesia via Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport. Immigration authorities are now intensifying efforts to monitor foreign nationals in Bali to ensure only law-abiding visitors benefit from the island's tourism, Ridha said.

So far in 2024, 41 foreigners have been deported from Denpasar, mostly for visa violations and criminal activities.
