inp.polri.go.id –  The National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inaugurated the strengthening of the organizational structure of the Mobile Brigade Corps (Korbrimob). This was done after it was approved by President Joko Widodo. The inauguration was held in a ceremony led by Kapolri at Korbrimob HQ, at Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, Friday (10/6/22). "We have just held an inauguration of the new Brimob Corps structure. In which, some time ago, the President was pleased to give the Brimob Police Corps, structural and organizational strengthening," explained Kapolri. By strengthening the organizational structure, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the Brimob would later be led by a three-star General or Commissioner General. The increase of higher rank also applied tp the structures below it. "The Brimob Corps Commander (Brimob Dankor) will go up one level to three stars, then Deputy Commander of Brimob goes up to two stars, and the Chief Bureau becomes Brigadier General. While the three troop commanders, Danpas I will be placed in Aceh, Danpas II in Kalimantan, to be precise near the new capital, and the Danpas III is placed in Papua," explained Kapolri. General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that the Brimob Corps is the ultimate unit that must always be deployed in important situations, such as dealing with all kinds of threats to high-escalation conditions. Brimob personnel will also be deployed in guarding and securing at several major events held in Indonesia in the future. Their role in ensuring the security situation is maintained is important. "In the future we will hold many events after the Covid-19 pandemic. We will soon hold the G-20 and we need to be extra in security sectors so that the events can run well," explained Kapolri. Not only that, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that the role of the Mobile Brigade Corps was also needed in securing the national agenda in Indonesia. Among them are securing the 2024 General Election to the establishment of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) for Papua. With the existence of a national agenda and an international event, it is necessary to strengthen the personnel to deal with the potential disturbances in public. "The National Police, especially the Mobile Brigade Corps, must be ready to be present to provide the best service so that the entire series of events can run smoothly and safely," he explained. According to General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, by safeguarding the public security, the Police have provided concrete evidence to support the Government's program in the context of national development to national economic recovery (PEN). "Because we certainly want to guard what the policies of the President, in our economic transformation which must be fought for. The security and social security situation is the key to economic growth. Once again I congratulate the Brimob Police Corps and may you be able to provide the best service to the society," said Kapolri.
