inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia calls for firm and concrete action to end the long-standing occupation of Palestine and establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

This was conveyed by Indonesian Vice Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir at the International Summit on the Implementation of the Two-State Solution hosted by France and Saudi Arabia at UN Headquarters in New York on July 29, 2025.

At the conference, Indonesia emphasized three main steps to realizing the Two-State Solution; the first step is that recognition must be strategic, not merely symbolic.

"Recognizing Palestine is not a favor. Recognition is an obligation under international law. Recognizing Palestine means fighting for justice. Recognition means believing in the UN Charter. Recognition means balancing diplomatic competition," said Nasir in his speech.

Indonesia emphasized that the two-state solution begins with political recognition, allowing peace negotiations to take place, which can then be followed by ending the illegal occupation as confirmed by the International Court of Justice.

Second, Indonesia emphasized that violence against Palestinians must stop immediately.

Indonesia emphasized that a ceasefire is a moral obligation, including providing humanitarian assistance and protecting civilians, both Palestinian and Israeli.

"President Prabowo has reaffirmed Indonesia's readiness to contribute to peace, including by providing personnel to support the efforts of the stabilization force in Gaza, under a UN mandate," said the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Third, Indonesia emphasized that the future of Palestine must be led by Palestinians themselves.

Indonesia emphasized that only the Palestinian people are responsible for rebuilding the Palestinian state and shaping its political future.

"Any attempt to forcibly displace them or impose conditions on their sovereignty must be firmly rejected. A strong and united Palestinian state, with full control over its territory and institutions, is the foundation of sustainable peace," the Vice Minister explained.
