Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia welcomed 13.98 million foreign tourists from January to November 2025, marking a 10.44 percent year-on-year increase and signaling a strong post-pandemic tourism recovery, the Ministry of Tourism said on Thursday (15/1/2026).
The visitors mainly came from Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, China, and Timor-Leste, entering through major gateways including Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Yogyakarta.
“Together, these five countries accounted for more than 56 percent of total foreign arrivals in November 2025,” Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana said in a written statement published by antaranews.com.
She explained that the growth reflects effective promotion, improved connectivity, and stable travel conditions. Meanwhile, domestic tourism also showed robust performance, with 1.09 billion trips recorded during the same period, surpassing the 2025 government target.
The minister noted that tourism activity remains concentrated in Java, prompting continued efforts to diversify destinations through priority areas, regenerative tourism, and village-based attractions outside the island.
