Indonesia central government and PT Pos Indonesia collaborate in launching limited edition dragon stamps in celebrating the 2024 Chinese New Year as the year of 2575 Wooden Dragon Year. “The launch of these stamps hopefully could be the symbol of government support in preserving culture,” says the Communication and Information Minister, Budi Arie Setiadi on Thursday (2/8/2024). The Dragon stamps actually have been released since February 2nd, and it includes first day cover stamps (SHP), souvenir sheets and full sheet stamps. PT Pos Indonesia will only launch 90,000 stamps that will be sold offline and online. According to the Post Director of Communications and Informatics Ministry, RI Gunawan Hutagalung, the launch of the special stamps have received positive feedback from the community as it has already been sold for 30,000 pieces. Gunawan noted that every Chinese New Year special edition stamp has always been warmly welcomed by local and even foreign collectors. The launch, says Gunawan, also demonstrates the support of the Indonesian government in the creative industry. “In every Chinese New Year, we will always release special limited edition stamps as philatelists have been eagerly awaited every year," said Director Gunawan with excitement.
