The North Sulawesi Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Yudhiawan Wibisono says that his party has prepared 7,557 personnel to secure the 2024 General Election. “Of the 9,111 Indonesian National Police personnel in North Sulawesi, those who are involved in the security operations are 7,557 personnel,” says Inspector General Yudhiawan on Wednesday (2/7/2024). The Two-Star General says that the thousands of personnel consists of 1,945 regional police personnel and more than 5,000 personnel from sub-regional polices. “Moreover, we also got support from the Indonesian Military Force where they dispatched 1,246 personnel and also support from the Community Protection Unit of 16,240 forces who are ready to secure the 8,240 polling stations throughout the province,” said Yudhiawan. On the other hand, Yudhiawan also emphasized the neutrality of the police as was stated in Law No 2 of 2002. In the law, it is stated that police have to remain neutral from politics and do not have rights in politics. (ad/sy/pr/nm)
