Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesia has been selected as the host for the prestigious Asia Road Race Championship (ARRC) in March 2025,  the Asia Cycling Confederation (ACC) has announced. "This upcoming ARRC will serve as a platform to showcase Indonesia's consistent capability in hosting and displaying excellence to our fellow Asian counterparts," said Raja Sapta Oktohari, the Senior Vice President of ACC, on Monday (18/3/2024). He disclosed that Indonesia will have ample time to prepare for ARRC 2025, including the process of inviting bids from provinces interested in hosting the races, as reported by antaranews.com. Okto clarified that while ARRC may not serve as a qualifier for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, it remains significant for providing training opportunities across all facets of cycling. He emphasized that the event will also serve as a training ground for coaches, referees, event organizers, and all stakeholders involved, including government bodies like the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. "This presents a golden opportunity for provinces interested in bidding to step forward. The selection process will prioritize the best-prepared location," Okto remarked. Meanwhile, Parama Nugroho, the Secretary General of the Indonesian Cycling Sports Association (PB ISSI), warmly welcomed ACC's decision to grant Indonesia as the host of the Asia Road Race Championship 2025. "We extend our sincere appreciation and full support to ACC for this decision, and we express our gratitude for the trust placed in us through the Senior Vice President, Raja Sapta Oktohari," he said Parama emphasized that the event represents an exceptional opportunity for the development of various aspects of Indonesian cycling and serves as a benchmark for ongoing efforts in disciplines such as road racing.
