Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia will repatriate two elderly Dutch nationals convicted in narcotics cases on 8 December 2025, following a bilateral practical arrangement signed in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/12/2025).
Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra confirmed the transfer, saying, “Both prisoners will depart for the Netherlands on a KLM flight at 7.25 pm from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.”
The government is returning Siegfried Mets (74), a death-row inmate convicted under Article 59 of Law No. 5/1997 on Psychotropics, and Ali Tokman (65), who is serving a life sentence for violating Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics.
Mets is detained at CipinangPenitentiary, while Tokman, currently held in East java’s Surabaya, will be transferred to Jakarta before departure, according to antaranews.com.
The Netherlands will cover all repatriation costs, and responsibility will shift once both inmates are handed over to Dutch authorities, marking continued legal cooperation between the two countries.
