Indonesia-US Vows to Improve Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. President Joko Widodo have agreed on improving the partnership of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) with the President of the United States (US) Joe Biden. Coordinating Minister of State (Menko) Airlangga Hartanto, who accompanies Jokowi states that in several pledges of CSP, collaboration in trading is one of the main focus. He believes that the two states need to further innovate in trade improvement, one of which are by extending Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) to Indonesia. “Indonesia need to push US congress in accelerating GSP signings considering its importance to the supply chain and the declining of US dependency on Chinese imports,” says Airlangga in his official statement on Wednesday (11/15/2023). Moreover, Airlangga also underscored a wider and inclusive trade access in Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) played an important role in accommodating the interest of developing countries. In the investment and development cooperation, Indonesia welcomes the good intention of US investors in supporting the establishment of Nusantara Capital City (IKN). Indonesia also welcomes the investors in helping Indonesia on realizing other several strategic projects. The meeting between the two states also marks their commitment in further strengthening collaboration in various fields. Indonesia saw the importance in building partnership that are mutually beneficial in overcoming global challenges and pushing sustainability economy, while contributing for world peace.
