Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia's junior badminton team emerged victorious in the 2024 Suhandinata Cup at the Nanchang International Sports Center in China on Saturday (5/101/2024), marking Indonesia’s second win in the tournament, their last being in 2019.

The Indonesian squad won the title by defeating the host nation and top-seeded team, China, with a narrow score of 110-103. This victory was Indonesia’s second consecutive final appearance, achieved under the new relay point scoring system, according to antaranews.com.

“The team showed great resilience,” said coach Wahyu Nababan after the match.

Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari, the team captain, kicked off the match in the women’s singles but fell short against Xu Wen Jing, losing 7-11. However, the tide turned when the women's doubles pair Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine won 22-15, leveling the score.

The mixed doubles pair Darren Aurelius/Bernadine Anindya W secured a crucial win, edging out their opponents 33-31. Indonesia then led 44-40 after Moh Zaki Ubaidillah’s victory in the men's singles.

The decisive moment came when men’s doubles pair Anselmus Breagit Fredy Prasetya/Pulung Ramadhan secured the final points, claiming Indonesia’s 110-103 win.
