Inp.polri.go.id - Kuala Lumpur. The Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru (KJRI Johor Bahru) delivered consular and immigration services to Pulau Tioman, a remote island in Malaysia’s Pahang state, from 27 to 27  September 2025.

“This marks the first time such mobile services reached Pulau Tioman, reflecting our commitment to inclusive and responsive protection for Indonesian citizens,” said Consul General Sigit S. Widiyanto, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Staff traveled about four hours by land and sea to reach the island.

The program, called Warung Konsuler dan Imigrasi (Warkonim), provided passports, temporary travel documents (SPLP), affidavits, birth certificates, and labor consultations to 14 Indonesians living in scattered villages. The Indonesians welcomed the initiative, saying it saved them long and costly trips to Johor Bahru.

The Consulate General also introduced KSATRIA, a chatbot for migrant protection, and reminded Indonesians to comply with Malaysia’s laws. Coordination meetings were held with Malaysian immigration and police officials, who confirmed no major issues involving Indonesians on the island.
