Docking at Suva's North King's Wharf on Saturday, the vessel was welcomed by Indonesian Ambassador to Fiji Dupito Simamora, Fijian Navy representatives, and Colonel Arif Prasetyo Irbianto, the Commander of the Navy's 2024 Pacific Port Visit Task Force.
“The goodwill mission in Fiji includes humanitarian aid and diplomatic engagement,” Colonel Irbianto said on Sunday (3/11/2024), adding that activities over the three-day stay involve providing medical supplies, hosting official meetings, and holding a public reception on board.
Locals and Indonesians in Fiji were invited to tour the ship through Sunday, with access to the control room, helicopter deck, and medical facilities, according to antaranews.com.
The mission included stops in Solomon Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, and Papua New Guinea, featuring humanitarian aid, medical services, and community support.
The 48-day mission, which began in the Solomon Islands, enganged a crew of 144 along with medical personnel, a diving team, and Navy officers.
