The award acknowledges the task force’s successful cooperation with other MTF units, including Germany’s naval contingent, while securing the Mediterranean waters off Lebanon, according to antaranews.com..
“Their operations ran smoothly and safely under German MTF command, leading to this well-deserved honor,” said Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali on Friday (14/2/2025), welcoming the returning troops in Jakarta.
The MTF’s duties include vessel inspections to assist the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) Navy in preventing arms smuggling. Indonesian personnel also conducted joint patrols and exercises with international naval forces.
Beyond the German medal, the MTF has also received honors from Tanzania, Lebanon, and Indonesia’s envoys in Turkey and Lebanon. The Navy will further honor its personnel with the Santi Dharma service medal for UN peacekeeping missions.
