INP Opens Bidding for Female Officers in Senior Leadership Roles

Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, the Assistant to the Chief of Indonesian National Police (INP) for Human Resources has revealed plans to initiate an open bidding process for female police officers (polwan) aspiring to attain senior leadership positions, including the role of Vice Chief of Regional Police. He emphasized that the commitment to fostering gender parity and inclusive professional growth among female officers is firmly rooted in the visionary leadership of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Chief of the INP. Consequently, the INP remains steadfast in ensuring that a diverse array of career pathways remains consistently accessible to women within the police force. "In an inclusive step towards equitable representation, various positions, including those ideally suited for female officers, will undergo open bidding. The outcomes of will be shared transparently," he said on Tuesday (29/8/23). Moreover, he emphasized that female officers who exhibit commendable achievements are actively encouraged to embrace opportunities for promotions and further educational enrichment.  He also stressed the vital importance of maintaining unwavering ethical standards, technical proficiency, and exemplary leadership capabilities for all female officers. "In the coming years, the Chief of INP has initiated efforts to identify positions where female officers can ascend to Vice Chief of Regional Police roles, similar to example set by Brigadier General Pol. (Ret.) Ida Utari, who held the position of Vice Chief of Central Kalimantan Regional Police," he remarked. This significant announcement underscores the INP's unwavering commitment to advancing gender equality and fostering an environment of professional growth for female officers. By empowering and harnessing the full potential of its diverse personnel, the INP aims to enrich its leadership landscape and better serve its mission within the broader law enforcement framework.
