Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian National Police (INP) has confirmed its readiness to secure the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) in Aceh and North Sumatra, focusing on personnel and escort preparedness. 

INP Head of Traffic Corps, Inspector General Aan Suhanan, said that the INP will support the Aceh Regional Police Traffic Directorate with additional personnel, vehicles, and technology, according to antaranews.com.

"We have inventoried the needs and will back them up," he said on Saturday (20/7/2024).

North Sumatra Regional Police have requested extra personnel, tactical vehicles, and technological equipment for operational security support. 

Chief Aan inspected two main venues: Harapan Bangsa Stadium in Aceh and Sumut Sport Centre in Medan. Special attention will be given to traffic access around the stadiums, considering limited parking areas.

"The committee must prepare parking areas," he added.

THe INP has also planned escort procedures for VVIPs, VIPs, and contingents from all provinces, ensuring smooth travel to competition venues. Collaborating with stakeholders, the INP aims to streamline entry and exit flows to prevent congestion both inside and outside the venues, he said.
