Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Task Force on the Criminal Acts of Human Trafficking (TPPO) of the Indonesian National Police and the Regional Police offices formed by INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has saved 2,169 victims in 709 cases. Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, the Head of the Public Information Bureau Public Relations Division of the INP said that the 709 cases were successfully uncovered from June 5-July 23, 2023. "From 709 reports, investigators arrested 844 suspects," he said in a press conference on Monday, (24/7/23). The general explained that in as many as 479 cases, the suspects lured the victims to work as migrant workers or domestic workers as their primary mode of crime. "In as many as 212 cases, the mode of crime is luring the victims to be commercial sex workers, 9 cases to be ship's crew while there were 53 cases of children exploitation," the INP spokesperson said. He conveyed the message from the INP Chief that job seekers should not be not easily tempted by offers of working with high salaries both at home and abroad, asking them to make sure whether the manpower company they apply to is an official one in order to get social, welfare and legal protection rights.
