Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta International Jazz Festival (JakJazz), the oldest international jazz festival in Southeast Asia, will return in 2025 after being on hold since 2019.

The 15th edition will take place outdoors at Senayan Park under the theme “Respecting the Legacy, Empowering the Youth.”

“The venue’s capacity is about 4,500 people, and this year we’re making it fully outdoor,” said Festival Director Tommy Maulana, the son of JakJazz founder Ireng Maulana, at a media luncheon in Jakarta on Wednesday (24/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

JakJazz 2025 will highlight young Indonesian talents while still featuring international acts, including Motoharu from Japan and a guest musician from the United States. Rising star Natasha Elvira is among the local artists confirmed to perform.

The festival will also stage pre-events such as a free Jazz Parade at Jakarta’s Thamrin district, along with workshops, pop-up gigs, and cross-industry collaborations. Organizers said the program supports Jakarta’s bid to position itself as a global city ahead of its 500th anniversary.
