Inp.polri.go.id -  Jakarta.  The Acting Governor of Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono, has pledged to make sure the of the 2024 elections  a success by providing various facilities, including buildings for logistic warehouses and internet connectivity at vote tabulation centers. "As we are entering the phase of vote collection and counting for the 2024 elections in 15 days, it is important to understand that this electoral process is a collective effort to uphold the continuity of the democratic process," he said on Tuesday (30/1/2024). The facilities provided by the Jakarta administration include the provision of secretariat buildings for the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu), secretariat offices for the sub-district election committee (PPK), and the voting committee (PPS) in villages or sub-districts, antaranews.com reported. In addition, logistic warehouses and vote tabulation centers, internet connectivity at 44 vote tabulation locations, and security personnel support for polling stations  and logistics distribution are part of the facilities. Acting Governor Heru emphasized the importance of cooperation between security forces by deploying personnel to strategic points to enhance vigilance and prevent potential disruptions or threats. The Jakarta administration also involves healthcare workers in the vote collection and counting stages to anticipate fatigue among election officials. "This helps prevent potential fraud or other disturbances that could disrupt the smooth progress of the vote collection and counting process in Jakarta," Acting Governor Heru said. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
