inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. A joint team from Customs and Excise, along with the Indonesian National Police (INP) uncovered a smuggling case of four sacks containing 82 packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 86 kilograms in Langsa City, Aceh Province.
Head of the Langsa Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC) Tipe Madya Pabean Sulaiman said the joint team arrested a perpetrator in the drug smuggling case.
"The joint team thwarted the smuggling of four sacks of drugs containing 82 packages of methamphetamine weighing 86 kilograms in Langsa City on Friday (5/16/2025). The team also arrested a perpetrator with the initials MR alias E," said Sulaiman in Langsa, quoted by Antaranews, Wednesday (5/21/2025).
Sulaiman said the disclosure of the crystal methamphetamine smuggling case began with information about a supply of crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia via the sea route in Aceh waters.
Furthermore, a joint team consisting of INP Narcotics Investigation Center, the Directorate of Narcotics Interdiction of Customs, the Aceh DJBC Regional Office, the Langsa Sub-regional Police, and Langsa Customs developed the information and conducted an investigation.
From the results of the investigation, said Sulaiman, the team received information about the landing point of the ship and the storage location of the prohibited goods in the fishpond area in Sungai Pauh, West Langsa District, Langsa City.
"The joint team finally arrested MR alias E who acted as the captain of the langsir ship. From MR's statement, we found the stored the crystal methamphetamine," he said.
Sulaiman said the disclosure of the 86 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine smuggling case could at least save 430,000 people from the dangers of drug abuse, as well as avoid state financial expenditure of around IDR 687.9 billion for rehabilitation costs.
