The Philippines is a customer of the NC212i aircraft produced by Indonesia. As reported by the official website of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, Indonesia had handed over two NC212i aircraft to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) in 2018. However, the delivery of this aircraft was delayed due to problems in the autopilot system. The NC212i purchase agreement between Indonesia and the Philippines itself was made in 2014, quoted from the Inquirer. This deal is worth 850 million pesos or equivalent to Rp222 billion. After obtaining the aircraft, former Philippine Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana had said that his country might buy the NC212i in the future. "If the Air Force is satisfied with this aircraft, they will order more of these aircraft," Lorenzana said in 2018. In addition to the Philippines, the NC212i aircraft was also purchased by Thailand. As reported by Antara, PTDI exported an NC212i aircraft to Thailand in August 2022. So far, PTDI has delivered 466 aircraft and helicopters to domestic and foreign buyers. Of this number, as many as 120 units are the NC212 series aircraft. NC212i itself is the latest series of NC212 aircraft. The Philippine media office, PNA, reported that the NC212i could be used to produce artificial rain for maritime patrols, and for coastal patrols.
