Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Badminton player Jonatan Christie has been named the captain of the Indonesian team for the 2025 Sudirman Cup, set to take place from 25 April to 4 May 2025  in Xiamen, China. 

“The team captain for the Sudirman Cup is Jonatan Christie, and the vice captain was supposed to be Gregoria Mariska Tunjung," said Deputy Chairman of Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), Taufik Hidayat, on Tuesday (22/4/2025). 

However, due to Gregoria's health issues, the deputy captain position remains unfilled.

Taufik added that the selection of Jonatan as captain was not based on any specific criteria but rather as an added responsibility within the team. 

Jonatan, affectionately known as Jojo, has consistently represented Indonesia in the prestigious mixed team competition since 2015.
