Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has launched a preliminary investigation into alleged corruption linked to a fuel trade deal between Indonesia’s Pertamina International Marketing and Distribution (PIMD) and Philippine companies Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. and Udenna Corporation.
“It is under investigation,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Saturday (2/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
KPK’s Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu declined to provide further details.”
The case stems from an unpaid transaction involving gas oil deliveries by PIMD. In 2020, Phoenix publicly announced a strategic partnership with PIMD. However, by 2022, PIMD had filed for arbitration in Singapore over payment defaults.
On 30 November 2023, the arbitration tribunal ruled in favor of PIMD, ordering Phoenix and Udenna to pay approximately USD 142 million.
