Minister of Manpower Yassierli confirmed on Friday (28/2/2025) that his ministry has prepared measures to address potential layoffs at PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (Sritex) after the company was declared insolvent starting Saturday following the company’s bankruptcy ruling in October 2024.
The government has been in continuous discussions with company management, curators, labor unions, and local manpower offices to ensure workers' rights are protected.
If layoffs occur, the ministry will guarantee its around 12,000 workers receive wages, severance pay, and employment social security benefits, including Old Age Security (JHT) and Job Loss Security (JKP).
In coordination with manpower offices in Surakarta and surrounding areas, the ministry has identified 10,666 job vacancies across various industries, including garments, plastics, footwear, retail, and food and beverage.
The ministry also offers vocational training programs nationwide.
