Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police has assigned 120 officers to provide security for three pairs of candidates during Jakarta's 2024 Gubernatorial Elections. 

The security personnel were assigned to the Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU Jakarta) on Sunday (22/9/2024).

"The Metro Jaya Police officers will guard each pair of candidates throughout the election period," said Astri Megatari, the Head of the Division for Voter Education and Public Participation at KPU Jakarta.

The Metro Jaya Director of Samaptaa, Senior Superintendent Ahmad Zainudin, said as many as 40 officers were assigned for each pair of the candidates.The deployment will begin immediately and last throughout the election season.

The Samapta units are responsible for various duties, including patrols, crowd control, and responding to emergencies. They are trained to handle situations that require quick response and intervention, ensuring the security of public spaces and events.

The police will coordinate with each candidate's team to implement the security measures based on their specific needs, he added..
