Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Police has officially taken over the investigation into the death of Arya Daru Pangayunan (39), a diplomat and staff member of Ithe Ministry of Foreign Affairs, found dead in his rented room in Gondangdia, Central Jakarta.
Menteng Police Office Chief Senior Inspector Rezha Rahandi confirmed on Thursday (10/7/2025) the case has been handed over to the General Crimes Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police for further investigation.
Metro Jaya Police Deputy Director for General Crimes Superintendent Putu Cholis Aryana also confirmed the ongoing probe but declined to share details, citing the case’s sensitive nature.
Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police said the body has been autopsied at RSCM Hospital, and results are pending. So far, investigators have interviewed four witnesses and are reviewing CCTV footage near the scene.
The cause of death remains unknown as authorities gather evidence and testimonies to determine whether foul play was involved.
