inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Operation Team of Violent Crimes Sub-directorate of Metro Jaya Regional Police successfully uncovered an online gambling network of Akurasi4D in Facebook. From the case uncovering, five suspects are arrested.
“We have arrested the five suspects in two different locations, namely in Wanadadi District and Bawang District, Central Java,” said Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi on Tuesday (12/10/2024).
Ade reveals that suspects with the initials of RP and R have the role of administering Script, Domain, and Web API. Then, RPN promoted gambling websites on Facebook.
Then, RY plays the role of Managing Live Chat and Online Gambling Web Admin. And finally, A promotes the gambling web on Facebook.
Continued by Metro Jaya Regional Police Violent Crimes Sub-director, Superintendent Rovan Richard Mahenu, the case uncovering started when his unit found the sites in Facebook.
“Our unit detected suspicious activities in the site during the cyber patrol on November 14th, 2024. From our investigation, we found that the Akurasi4D online gambling site offered various betting games,” said Rovan
On the other hand, following the arrest of the five suspects, police have confiscated 15 mobile phones for operational and personal needs, four ATM cards, and IT equipment such as one PC and CPU unit. In addition, there was also Rp 3 million in cash, a bank account balance of Rp 500 million, two savings books, and a black Honda Odyssey car for operational purposes.
The perpetrators were charged with multiple articles, namely Article 303 of the Criminal Code concerning gambling with a prison sentence of up to 10 years, Article 27 paragraph (2) of the ITE Law which contains a maximum prison sentence of 6 years, and Articles 3, 4, and 5 of Law No. 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering (TPPU), which regulates a criminal sentence of up to 20 years and a maximum fine of IDR 10 billion.
