inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. Welcoming the long Christmas and New Year holidays, the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency, West Java, has made a regulation prohibiting buses from entering alternative routes in the Puncak tourist area.

Head of Traffic Division of Bogor Transportation Office, Dadang Kosasih, said that until now the policy is in the process of being finalized with stakeholders and will soon be decided through a meeting forum.

"Later the rules will be discussed first, hopefully everyone agrees that large cars are not allowed to use alternative roads," said Dadang Kosasih on Tuesday (12/10/2024).

Dadang Kosasih also explained that the regulation was drafted following the rampant accidents of large vehicles on the Puncak alternative route due to the narrow and steep road conditions.

In his notes, over the past four months, there have been two tourist bus accidents on the Puncak Bogor alternative route. Dozens of people became victims of the incident. One of them died, two were seriously injured, 24 were slightly injured, and 25 others suffered trauma.

Dadang explained, after the regulation was agreed upon in the forum, the Bogor Regency Transportation Office immediately conducted socialization by installing a number of notification banners.
