Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo has denied claims of corruption in the organization of the National Sports Week (PON) XXI in Aceh and North Sumatra 2024.
He clarified on Friday (13/9/2024) that recent coordination with the Attorney General’s Office and the Indonesian National Police C(INP) Criminal Investigation Agency was not related to corruption but rather to address public complaints and ensure the accuracy of criticisms circulating on social media.
Minister Dito explained that the investigation was initiated in response to widespread criticism on social media following the PON XXI opening, and not due to any concrete evidence of corruption, according to antaranews.com.
He stressed that the effort aims to address complaints and ensure proper management of the event.
The Minister also emphasized that a special task force, established by Presidential Decree No. 24/2024, is in place to oversee the PON and the National Paralympics Week (Peparnas).
This task force, led by the Deputy Attorney General and including representatives from the the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and other legal authorities, is designed to address and investigate any issues reported.
