Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir has given Indonesia’s sports organizations until the end of 2025 to resolve leadership dualism through consensus-based dialogue.
“I will give KOI, KONI, or whoever is responsible until the end of this year to resolve the dualism issue,” he told lawmakers during his first working meeting with Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Monday, as reported by antaranews.com.
The dualism problem, notably in table tennis and boxing, has long hampered athlete development and was once again raised in the parliamentary session.
Minister Erick urged the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), the National Sports Committee (KONI), and sports federations to settle disputes through musyawarah untuk mufakat, a principle of decision-making rooted in national consensus.
If unresolved by year’s end, he warned the government would enforce settlement through regulations and laws. Minister Erick stressed unity and self-reflection among all parties, saying unresolved dualism ultimately harms athletes and undermines national achievements.
