Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps Head Inspector General Aan Suhanan revealed new facts regarding the recent multiple-vehicle accident at kilometer 92 on Cipularang Toll, Purwakarta.

After conducting a crime scene investigation, he explained that the incident was a chain collision.

“From the investigation and Jasa Marga’s dashboard data, it appears to be a rear-end collision,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com..

The road was wet due to heavy rain during the crash.

The team discovered brake marks before the accident site, though it remains unclear whether they were from the involved vehicles. It also found signs of overheated brake pads, indicating possible malfunction.

“We will examine the technical aspects further,” Chief Aan added. The police are also reviewing speed and driver behavior data from Jasa Marga's dashboard.

Despite these discoveries, Chief Aan emphasized that the cause of the accident is under investigation.

"We need to reconstruct the findings and hope to conclude the cause soon," he said.

The collision involved a truck and 17 minivans, resulting in one fatality and several injuries.
