Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The North Sumatra Regional Police has launched the Lake Toba Safety Operation 2024 for a 14-day period, from 12 to 25 March 2024. The Lake Toba Safety Operation 2024 aims to enhance traffic flow during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. With 1,906 personnel involved, including 100 from the North Sumatra Police task force and 180 from police task forces, the operation emphasizes preventive measures and community engagement in traffic management. "The primary aim is to enhance traffic discipline and reduce accident fatalities," said North Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi on Wednesday (13/3/2024) He emphasized the community's need for security, safety, and smooth traffic flow while acknowledging various challenges, including violations and accidents often stemming from human error. According to Chief Agung, the operation' success will be measured by improved traffic discipline, reduced accident rates, and fewer fatalities.
