North Sumatra Police Seize 29 Kilograms of Meth from Malaysian Syndicate

Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The North Sumatra Regional Police have confiscated 29 kilograms of methamphetamine and 39,000 ecstasy pills and arrested two suspects linked to a Malaysian drug syndicate. 

North Sumatra Police Director of Narcotics Senior Superintendent Yemi Mandagi confirmed on Wednesday (2/10/2024) the arrests of the suspects, identified as MF and KS, both residents of North Sumatra. followed community tips regarding drug trafficking in Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra. 

Investigative teams discovered that the suspects were en route to Medan. Upon reaching Medan, police shot suspect KS when he resisted arrest, as reported by antaranews.com. 

Following suspect KS's statements, the police pursued suspect MF, who fled in a hatchback with the drugs. Suspect MF crashed into another vehicle, resulting in a multi-car collision on 29 September 2024.

The police arrested suspect MF, seizing the 29 kilograms of meth and 39,000 ecstasy pills intended for distribution in Medan.
