The North Sumatra Regional Police Chief escorted the departure of Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana to the airport after their visit to Batubara District, Tebingtinggi City, North Sumatra on Thursday (2/8/2024). During the escort, there were also seen Acting Governor of North Sumatra Hassanudi, Bukit Barisan I Military Regional Commander Major General Mochammad Hasar, and other key regional officials. “Thankfully, the visit of Mr. President to the province was going well and smoothly. This is all thanks to the support from the society,” said Chief Agung Setya Imam Effendi. Previously, President Jokowi had stayed in North Sumatra for two days on several occasions. During a meeting at Asber Youth Sports Center, Jokowi assures his people about the National Health Insurance-Kartu Indonesia Sehat (JKN-KIS) as the government has prepared IDR 46 trillion to cover their health issues.
