Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura.  In preparation for Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024, Chief of  Papua Regional Police Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri, together with the Regional Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) for Papua, Dr Roy Eduard Fabian Wayoi, visited orphanages and hospitals on Tuesday (12/12/2023). The locations visited included Muhammadiyah Tanah Hitam Orphanage, Filadelfia / GPDI Dosai Orphanage, Elderly Care Orphanage, Purna Bhakti in Jayapura Regency, Purna Bhakti in Keerom and Jayapura City, Abepura Regional General Hospital  and Jayapura Regional General Hospital. During the visit, Chief Fakhiri said that the Christian community are celebrating Christmas 2024. "As fellow believers, we must promote tolerance.  We need to ensure that our brothers and sisters can celebrate Christmas peacefully," he said. Chief Fakhiri explained that the Papua Police had come together with the BPN in Papua to share joy with the children, and that December is a good month to visit different places. "Hopefully, everyone can be better and happier in this Christmas moment. For those who have difficulties and illnesses, we come to make a charity visit with the hope that all patients can recover and celebrate Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024," he said. (mg/my/pr/nm)
