Papua Police Chief Urged Cyber Team to Monitor Social Media ahead Elections

Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri asked members of Cyber sub-directorate to monitor social media to support a secure and peaceful 2024 General Elections. “To support a safe and secure 2024 General Elections, Cyber Sub-directorate has to inspect and monitor social media although currently there are no reports of violations or criminal acts in election,” explain the police when giving his remarks in National Working Meeting of Drug and Criminal Investigation Function in Jayapura on Monday (10/16/2023). Moreover, he also implored to improve monitoring on social media while the drug investigation also urged to intensify the establishment of drug-free area, and support Papua National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) in eradicating drugs. He also asked all personnel involved to preserve the good name of Indonesian National Police and avoid acts that could harm it. (ad/ri/pr/nm)
