inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Raising the theme of preventing radicalism and intolerance, The Vice Chief of Papua Regional Police, Brigadier General Patrige Renwarin led development activities for overcoming radicalism and intolerance for Indonesian National Police (INP) Civil Servants.

In his remarks, he highlights the importance of preventing radicalism and intolerance in the police environment as they are the frontliners in maintaining state stability and security.

“If intolerance and radicalism are not prevented together, especially by us as the frontliner officials, then one of the four state pillars will crumble,” remarks Renwarin.

Renwarin also underscores the huge threat that may appear if state security institutions began to be infiltrated by radical parties.

He also notes the general misconception that often linked terrorism to certain religions, particularly Islam.

“Radicalism does not stem from one religion. The many cases that involve Muslim caused these misconceptions and we have to clarify this together,” remind Renwarin.

He hopes that the military and police would continue to strengthen their teamwork overcoming various challenges in the future. He reminds all personnel to remain vigilant towards those who showed suspicious activities and to immediately take action to prevent radicalism infiltration.
