inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The police have named two people as suspects in the vandalism and assault of a discussion meeting at Grand Kemang, South Jakarta. The incident occurred on Saturday (9/28/2024) at around 09.30 am.

"Five people were secured by a joint team from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation unit and the South Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police. Meanwhile, two have already been named as suspects," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam in an official statement, on Sunday (9/29/2024).

He explained that the assault and vandalism were carried out by 30 people. Initially, they forcibly entered the ongoing discussion event and beat three discussion participants and the hotel security guard.

"Then the perpetrators destroyed the tables, glasses, projectors and banners used for the event in the Ballroom by slamming them until they broke. After committing the vandalism, the perpetrators fled," said Ade.

The suspects were then charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code.
