“Security personnel deployed for the protest is 1,784,” said the Head of Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police, Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro on Thursday (8/29/2024).

Susatyo details that the thousand joint personnel consists of military and police members, also officials from the Jakarta Provincial Government.

He adds that the traffic engineering for the protest will be situational, adapting to the situation at the field. However, police have prepared the traffic engineering around the National Monument if the situation escalates.

“We suggest people who will be going towards the National Monument to seek alternative roads. Then, for the demonstrants, we implore you to maintain security and order,”

All security personnel are also appealed to prioritize persuasive approaches, not to be easily provoked, prioritize negotiations, and serve the public well.
