inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency begins to destroy the 120 kg of meth, seized from three different cases.

The Head of INP Criminal Investigation Agency Criminal Investigation Sub-directorate 4, Senior Superintendent Gembong Yudha says that the three cases are those in Tanjung Balai with seized meth 69 kg, Bengkalis 20 kg, and Pekanbaru 31 kg.

Yudha says that the termination of the meth is according to the Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"This destruction activity is based on the provisions in Law Number 35 of 2009 that all evidence is destroyed and some is set aside for the trial process," he said, Friday (7/3/25).

He emphasized that this step is a form of transparency in handling evidence that has been confiscated by investigators. With the destruction of this evidence, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police hopes to provide a deterrent effect on perpetrators of narcotics crimes.

"This action also shows the police's commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in Indonesia," he said.

Until now, he said, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police continues to strive to uncover national and international narcotics networks in order to reduce the number of illegal drug trafficking in the country.
