KKB Victim Laid to Rest in Manado

The body of Police First Brigadier Rudi Agung Ashari, a member of the Damai Cartenz Ops who lost his life in a firefight with the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), has been transported to his native town of Manado. The departure ceremony was led by the Vice Chief of Papua Regional Police Brigadier General Ramdani Hidayat. Police Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, Head of Public Relations of Papua Regional Police, explained that the body arrived at Sentani Airport from Oksibil, Pegunungan Bintang District, aboard a Smart Cakrawala Aviation PK-SNA plane at 08.59 local titme. The body were then flown to Manado via Lion Air JT 799 for funeral. "Following this, the body delivery ceremony took place at Sentani International Airport, Jayapura, led directly by Vice Chief of Papua Regional Police Brigadier General Ramdani Hidayat," he stated in a written release on Tuesday (19/9/23). In a heartfelt statement, he conveyed his deepest condolences for the untimely loss of Police First Brigadier Rudi Agung Ashari, whom he regarded as an exemplary son of the nation, who had fought with unwavering dedication in upholding peace and order. "The victim sacrificed his life in his noble duty as a member of the Indonesian National Police (INP) to protect the community from the threat of KKB in Papua. His dedication and sacrifice in maintaining the peace and security of his homeland will always be remembered and appreciated," he said. (ar/ay/hn/nm)
