inp.polri.go.id - West Java. The West Java Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate,  successfully dismantled a drug trafficking network in the Cimahi area.

From the operation, which took place throughout August 2025, police secured evidence in the form of 7 kilograms of methamphetamine and 298 ecstasy pills.

Acting Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Irfan Nurmansyah, revealed a new method of drug smuggling by disguising ecstasy pills in capsules to avoid airport inspection.

"The confiscated evidence was 7,004.86 grams of methamphetamine and 298 capsules containing ecstasy. The method involved crushing the methamphetamine into powder and placing it inside the capsules. Based on the investigation, these items were transported by air and entered through airline baggage," he said, as reported by the prbandungraya website, Friday (8/22/2025).

As a result of this case, the police have named three suspects. They face severe penalties, including the death penalty or life imprisonment, under Article 114 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph 2 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. Head of Unit 4, Sub-Directorate 3, West Java Regional Police Narcotics Directorate, AKP Septian, added that the investigation began with a public report regarding a drug transaction within the Cimahi Police jurisdiction.

During the arrest, officers found 5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine hidden in the trunk of a motorcycle.

"Based on the investigation, the suspects smuggled ecstasy from Malaysia by grinding it into powder and packaging it in capsules. This method was proven to have deceived airport officials," explained the West Java Regional Police's Narcotics Directorate.

Police are currently investigating the cross-border drug trafficking network, including the possible involvement of an international syndicate.
