Police Handles 18 Cases of Election Violations

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The investigators of Integrated Law Enforcement Task Force (Gakkumdu) of Indonesian National Police have received another election violation reports. Currently, there are 18 election violations that are being investigated. “18 cases are being investigated, two were stopped, and six others have been moved to the prosecutors,” says Gakkumdu Director, Brigadier General Djuhandani Raharjo Puro on Wednesday (1/24/2024). According to him, there are seven suspects have been trialed and one suspect were sentenced free by the high prosecutor. Regarding the case reported, Djuhandani told that most cases reported are money politics and scam cases, with four cases each for the two criminal actions. “There are two cases for making a decision that benefits/injure the election participants, one case for campaigning at houses of worship or educational institutions, one case for prohibited parties organizing campaign, two cases for involving prohibited parties in campaign, three cases for vandalism on campaign props, and one case for disturbing or hindering campaign,” reveals Djuhandani.
