inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency has begun an investigation into the alleged mining of a specific type of non-metallic mineral, namely zircon, in Central Kalimantan. In this case, PT Karya Res Lisbeth Mineral is responsible for the mine.
"The current suspect is Marcel Sunyoto, Director of PT Karya Lisbeth," explained Brigadier General Nunung Syaifuddin, Director of the Criminal Investigation Unit of INP, when confirmed on Monday (8/4/2025).
Brigadier General Nunung stated that several pieces of evidence allegedly committed by PT Karya Res Lisbeth have been collected. The investigative team is currently coordinating with experts.
"This week, we will hold an open case review. The charges are under Articles 158 and 161 of the Mineral and Coal Mining Law," he said.
The alleged illegal mining crime emerged from the circulation of a letter revoking the approval of the work plan and budget (RKAB) for the production operations phase from the Energy and Mineral Resources Agency of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Government.
This letter was issued as a follow-up to the results of the reconciliation and monitoring evaluation and in the context of implementing certain types of non-metallic mineral mining business activities, in this case Zircon mining materials in Central Kalimantan.
