Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang.  The Semarang City Sub-regional Police are investigating the death of a specialist medical student from the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Diponegoro in Semarang, due to suspected suicide at her boarding house on Jalan Lempongsari, Semarang, Central Java.

Senior Inspector Andika Dharma Sena, the Semarang Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, confirmed the investigation on Wednesday (14/8/2024).

He said that her body was found on Monday in her locked rented room.

Initial reports suggest the cause of death was an injection of medication. There are indications that the student may have been a victim of bullying during her studies, according to antaranews.com.

“We are still verifying whether bullying was a factor,” Chief Andika added.

Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Suharnomo, has not yet responded to inquiries regarding the incident.
