Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation has interrogated 19 witnesses concerning the meeting between the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata and former Yogyakarta Customs Chief Eko Darmanto.
"To date, our investigative team has questioned 19 witnesses related to this case," said Senior Superintendent Ade Safri Simanjuntak, the Metro Jaya PoliceDirector of Special Criminal Investigation, on Monday (30/9/2024).
The investigation involves Eko Darmanto and several KPK employees, as well as several staff from the Ministry of Finance's Inspectorate General.
The police have discussed with legal experts to enhance their understanding of criminal law and procedural law as the investigation continues.
The inquiry is based on investigation orders issued on 5 April 2024, and extended on 9 September 2024.
Chief Ade Safri assured that the investigation will be conducted professionally, transparently, and accountable, aiming to determine the existence of any criminal offenses related to this case.
