Police Quick Response in Handling Disasters in Sukabumi

inp.polri.go.id - Sukabumi. With how high the rain intensity lately in Sukabumi Regency, the region suffered various disasters such as floods and landslides. In light of this situation, Sukabumi Sub-regional Police throughout their ranks move quickly to help the people affected by the disaster.

Head of Palabuhanratu Sector Police, Police Assistant Superintendent Roni Haryanto explains that the region was flooded and inundated several areas due to the overflowing of the Cisawo and Jigangsa rivers.

“We have evacuated around 50 people to a safer place and built an evacuation post at the sub-district office. As of now, we are still in communication with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and related agencies to help affected residents," he said.

On the other hand, Cinemas Sector Police Chief, Police Assistant Superintendent Deni Miharja states there are several flood points such as in Mekarsakti Village, Mandrajaya Village, Tamanjaya Village, Ciwaru Village, and Ciemas Village.

Chief of Sukabumi Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Samian, affirms that all police ranks in the regency continue to move fast in helping the people from the disasters.

“We prioritize the safety of our people by evacuating them, providing them with medical assists, and building emergency posts. Coordination with related parties continues to be intensified to ensure effective handling,” remarks Samian.

Samian appealed to the entire community to remain vigilant against potential disasters that could occur due to extreme weather. The community is expected to immediately report emergency incidents to the nearest authorities so that handling can be carried out as quickly as possible.
