inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The West Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Unit has uncovered a clandestine laboratory producing Class I narcotics, carisoprodol tablets, in the Semarang area, Central Java.
The discovery follows a case investigation that began with the arrest of a suspect identified as PD in the Penjaringan area of North Jakarta.
"This arrest led to the discovery of a narcotics production location in Semarang City, Central Java, and the arrest of another suspect identified as DJ," said Police Assistant Superintendent Avrilendy, Vice Head of the West Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Unit, on Monday (7/13/2026).
He explained that the case began on Thursday (4/9/2026) at around 9:00 a.m., when the police, led by Chief of Unit 3, Police Senior Inspector Hamdan Agus, conducted a raid in the parking area of a hotel on Bandengan Selatan street, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

Based on the results of the examination and investigation, officers then expanded the investigation to Semarang, Central Java, and arrested another suspect, identified as DJ, in the Pleburan area of South Semarang.
"Further investigation led to a warehouse in Jati Asri Alley, Wonolopo Village, Mijen District, Semarang City, which was known to be used as a clandestine laboratory," explained Avrilendy.
From the underground laboratory, officers found various pieces of evidence in large quantities, including a mixer for making carisoprodol tablets and a printing machine for printing carisoprodol tablets.
"Then, 188,000 carisoprodol tablets, 10 barrels containing carisoprodol core powder, totaling 250 kilograms, and supporting raw materials for the production process, totaling 1,650 kilograms," he said.
