Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The South Lampung Sub-regional Police Narcotics Unit confiscated narcotics valued at Rp 75.1 billion from an inter-provincial drug network following an operation, which spanned four months from June to September 2024.

“This operation saved over a million lives from drug abuse,” said South Lampung Police Chief Superintendent Yusriandi Yusrin in Kalianda on Sunday (29/9/2024).

The confiscated narcotics originated from North Sumatra, Riau, and South Sumatra. They were intended for distribution in Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, and Bali, as reported by antaranews.com.

Authorities intercepted these at the Seaport Interdiction (SI) of Bakauheni Port and South Lampung Police office.

A total of 61 cases were uncovered, with 79 suspects arrested, including 76 men and 3 women. Seized evidence includes 70.24 kg of crystal meth, 301.15 kg of marijuana, and 10,000 ecstasy pills.

The suspects face severe charges under Indonesian Narcotics Law No. 35/2009, with penalties ranging from five years to life imprisonment or the death penalty, depending on the severity.
